Free store checkup

Paste your store's address. In a few seconds you get a plain-English first look at what may be costing it orders and search visibility, each finding linked to the check in our launch checklist that covers it.

Free, with no sign-up. We use the address once and store neither it nor the report.

The checkup runs in your browser with JavaScript, which is off here. The list below says what it reads, and a store review covers all of it and more, with a person. How the store review works

Mostly curious about ChatGPT? The AI visibility check runs the same checkup with the AI crawlers first.

How it works

  1. 1. Paste the address of your home page or of any product page.

  2. 2. We read that page, its robots.txt, its llms.txt and its sitemap, the way a crawler does.

  3. 3. You get findings in plain English, each linked to the check that covers it.

What we check

What the checkup reads.

One page, the way a crawler reads it: the HTML the store sends, its robots.txt, its llms.txt and its sitemap. Nothing that JavaScript adds later, and no speed test.

Platform. Which platform the store runs on, from signs in its HTML and headers. Shown, never judged.

Basics

  • The store opens over HTTPS.
  • Where the address ends up, and how many redirects it takes.
  • How long the page takes to start arriving at our server.
  • The page says which language it is in.
  • The page has a viewport tag for phones, and lets shoppers zoom.

Search

  • The page title, and its length.
  • The meta description, and its length.
  • One main heading (H1) on the page.
  • The canonical tag points at the page itself or its main address.
  • Nothing tells search engines to leave the page out.
  • A sitemap, found through robots.txt or at /sitemap.xml.

Sharing

  • The share title, description and image (Open Graph tags).

Structured data

  • The types of structured data (JSON-LD) on the page.
  • Product markup on a product page.
  • Organization markup on the home page.

AI visibility

  • Whether robots.txt lets GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot, Claude-User, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and Bingbot read the home page.
  • An llms.txt file. Nice to have, not a ranking factor.

Weight

  • How many scripts the page loads, and from how many outside hosts.
  • Scripts in the head that hold up the page (no async or defer).
  • Images without a width and height.
  • Images below the first few that are not lazy-loaded.

Trust pages

  • Links to shipping, returns, privacy, terms and contact pages.

Images

  • Images without alt text.

Questions

Questions about the checkup.

Is the store checkup free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no email to give. Paste the address and the report appears on this page.

What does the checkup look at?

One page of your store, as a crawler reads it: the basics, the search and share tags, the structured data, which AI and search crawlers robots.txt lets in, the weight of its scripts and images, and its links to trust pages. Each finding links to the check in our launch checklist that covers it.

Is it the same as a store review?

No. The checkup is an automated first look at the HTML of one page. It gives no score and runs no speed test. A store review is a 15-minute call in which you walk us through the store and where it hurts, and then you get written notes.

Do you keep my store's address or the report?

No. The address is used once, to run the checkup, and neither it nor the report is stored or logged. Our analytics count that a checkup ran, with the platform it found and its overall result, and nothing else. If you book a store review from the report, the booking form is given the address, so you do not type it again.

Why does the report miss something my store has?

It reads the HTML your store sends, before any JavaScript runs, so markup or links that apps add later are not seen. A store that sends automated visitors somewhere else, by country or to a bot check, may show us a different page. That is why it is a first look and not a review.

An automated look sees one page. In a store review you walk us through your store: a 15-minute call, then written notes. Yours either way.
